  • Honda CB Shine SP.

    This month seems to be a special one for Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) Limited as the company has rolled out a brand-new variant of their best-selling motorcycle, the CB Shine, called the CB Shine SP. The prices for this new variant start at Rs 59,990 (ex-Delhi) and go all the way up to Rs 64,400 (ex-Delhi) for the topend variant. There are changes galore on this new variant which now gets better-looking body panels, stickers and a new paint job. The biggest change, however, lies within the engine.   • 2016 BMW G 310 R.

    BMW says it wants to “take the typical BMW premium aspiration to the segment under 500cc” with its new, single-cylinder G 310 R. Developed in Munich but produced in India by TVS Motor Company (India’s third-largest motorcycle manufacturer), the G 310 R features a 313cc engine with reverse-cylinder design that has the intake facing forward and exhaust rearward, allowing the engine to fit better in a chassis with short wheelbase and longer swingarm. Aimed at newer riders, the G 310 R features a moderately low seat height of 30.9 inches and is claimed to weigh 349 pounds while making 34 hp and 21 footpounds of torque.

    This is the more adventurous form of the regular NC 750, with a tough new look and LED lighting, revised front fork damping, expanded storage compartment plus LCD instruments. Its parallel twin engine is married to Honda’s dual-clutch transmission, which receives three-level ‘S’ mode, plus further software upgrades in both MT and AT riding modes.
