Interesting News
  • Le Derny.

With its colourful style, its refined design and its aluminium shell characteristic of Deus creations, Le Derny is a unique prototype that pays homage to the style of the 1950s in the spirit of the great classical cyclists after the War. In 2016, to celebrate the partnership between PEUGEOT Scooters and Deus Ex Machina, it will take part in Eroica, the most famous of the vintage cycling races organised on the roads of Tuscany and in the valley of Chianti.
  • RC 390.

If you thought the RC 390 was a great bike to own and ride, well, guess what, it becomes even better now. KTM have ditched that underbelly exhaust for a more conventionally mounted end can on the right and have added ride-by-wire technology to help refine the delivery of the 44 PS from the bike’s liquid-cooled 373-cc single-cylinder engine. A slipper clutch has also been thrown in to reduce wheel chatter during trail braking or aggressive downshifting. All of these additions also mean that for the first time the KTM RC 390 is now Euro 4 compliant. Expect these changes to come into the 390 Duke as well.
  • CRF 1000L Africa Twin.

Honda unveiled the celebrated CRF 1000L Africa Twin in Europe for the first time at EICMA. This adventure-tourer motorcycle is powered by a 998-cc parallel twin engine that draws heavily on Honda’s CRF 250 and 450 competition machines and uses the same four-valve Unicam head design. While the standard Africa Twin is available with a six-speed manual gearbox, there are two more versions to be had. The first features ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), which controls the amount of torque going to the wheel and, in doing so, prevents or allows wheelspin. The last variant of the Africa Twin features Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) that was first seen on the VFR 1200F. Unlike on the sports tourer, however, on the Africa Twin, the DCT has also been programmed to function off-road. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely at the moment that the CRF 1000L Africa Twin will head to India anytime soon, but there’s no harm in hoping, is there?
