  • Rivale 800.

The new-for-2016 Rivale 800 is probably one of the edgiest designs available when it comes to naked streetfighters. The bike’s steel tubular trellis frame houses a 798-cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine that pumps out 125 PS at 12,000 RPM and a peak 84 Nm of torque at 8,600 RPM. Transmission to a fat 180/55 ZR17 rear tyre is taken care of via a cassette-type six-speed constant-mesh gearbox. The bike also benefits from MV Agusta’s EAS electronic quickshift. Front forks of the Rivale are 43- mm Marzocchi USDs while the rear suspension comprises a Sachs monoshock with adjustment for spring preload as rebound damping. The new Rivale also sports a larger 16-litre fuel-tank compared to the older model’s 12.9 litres.
  • Ford to invest Ј3 billion in electRification.

Ford will add 13 new electrified vehicles to its model range between now and 2020, with more than 40 per cent of the company’s nameplates featuring an Electric model. The first results of this Ј3 billion project will be a new Focus Electric car that will be capable of travelling 100 miles on a single charge. The investment will see electrified vehicle research and development centres in Europe and Asia expand, with what Ford calls a ‘hub and spoke’ system that will allow the global team to accelerate battery technology development and exploit opportunities in key markets.
  • 2016 DUCATIS.

Ducati has unveiled its updated Hypermotard and Scrambler lines for 2016. The Hypermotard models receive larger engines that are more powerful and meet strict Euro 4 emissions standards, while the Scrambler line expands with the addition of a Flat Track Pro version and the 399cc Sixty2. The company also introduced an updated “Supermid” 959 Panigale, which you can read about elsewhere in this issue. The three models in the Hypermotard lineup-the base Hypermotard, the SP, and the Hyperstrada-receive a larger engine that also meets stringent Euro 4 emissions standards. Bore has been increased from 88mm to 94mm, with a corresponding increase in displacement to 937cc, this despite the models now being referred to as the Hypermotard 939 and Hyperstrada 939. Other updates include an increased compression ratio (from 12.8:1 to 13.1:1) and a redesigned 2-into-1 exhaust system. Maximum power is now 113 hp (slightly up from the previous model’s 110 hp), and torque is up by 10 percent. The Hypermotard’s chassis is unchanged from the previous model, and other features such as the Ducati Safety Pack, three-level ABS, traction control, and riding modes all carry over. In the Scrambler line, the four versions produced last year carry on and are joined by the Flat Track Pro, which is based on the Full Throttle but has side-mounted number plates, a small-nose fairing, and other Ducati accessories such as machined footpegs. As with the Full Throttle, the Flat Track Pro has a Termignoni exhaust as standard. The Sixty2 is a more affordable Scrambler, with a smaller engine derived from the 803cc mill producing 41 hp, which Ducati says will make the bike more accessible for newer riders. The Sixty2 has slightly different brakes and suspension, helping to lower cost to $7,995. The Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak returns for 2016 after a year off, and the Multistrada line expands further with a more dirt-oriented Enduro model. The Diavel line also grows, with cruiser versions dubbed the XDiavel and XDiavel S added.

  • 2015 Mercedes- Benz C300/ C400 Sedan Class
We drove around the smooth roads of France; Marseille with the Chic C250's most comfortable air suspension experiencing a luxury drive. However with the Merc's Agility select system sooner a standard steel spring suspension will be available as standard. It marks the debut of the Agility Select that can adjust with throttle response, damper the firmness, assist steer and shift points of transmission. These parameters can be determined by selecting for you from among the models, Eco, Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. There are also individual settings available that let you customize the systems to taste of your individual preference. While being very selective, we chose the Sport Plus after a short tussle in checking the combinations. This provided aggressive cornering on account of the linear steering alignment. Much credit is given to the car handling by Mercedes to front suspension that is multilink type. Reiner Scheu, Chief engineer at the Chassis stated on request in a press release that it maintains patch of the tire during camber control throughout the travel as compared with the unequal strut or setup with control arm. While checking the turning crispness of the 2015, the rear multilink suspension led us down with the squirming and squishing noise when exerted pressure. It indirectly meant that the drive of the C250 was serene and composed on the highway. The C250 claims to shift 0-60 in 6.6 secs, though we could not verify the number, however, the engine eagerly shifts and pulls under throttle, even the lightest. The gear changes are quite noticeable at times. When spoken about the Brakes that Merc offers are firm and crisp whenever the pedal is pressed upon. ...see full review
