Interesting News
  • TRK 502.

The Benelli TRK 502, which is also bound for our shores, will be a potent addition to the already formidable Benelli line-up in India. In a country where motorcycle touring is the primary form of leisure biking, the TRK 502 with its 47.6-PS and 45-Nm 500-cc liquid-cooled parallel twin (the same as in the Leoncino) and 20-litre petrol tank will definitely appeal to a whole new range of consumers. The bike features USD front forks and a rear monoshock, both with 150 mm of travel, in order to provide as plush a ride quality over long journeys as possible. The bike will also be available in a more off-road orientated version. Unlike the Tornado 302 and the Leoncino this bike will not be coming to India until the second half of 2016, which is when it will also be launched globally.
  • GD 250R.

The Hyosung GD 250R is the fully faired version of the GD 250N that we had ridden last year. Launched at the EICMA by Hyosung’s management and DSK Motowheels, the GD 250R is powered by an air-cooled 250-cc single-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed transmission. Evidently, the bike is headed to India and, once launched here, should prove itself a compelling purchase proposition for those looking for a fully faired quarterlitre sport bike but want something other than the ageing Honda CBR 250R.
  • JEEP news.

A new special edition of the Jeep Cherokee has been unveiled, with the Night Eagle edition limited to just 350 examples in the UK. Powered by the 197bhp 2.2-litre MultiJet II engine, it is paired to Jeep’s Active Drive I four-wheeldrive system, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and costs Ј36,795 - exactly the same as the flagship Limited model with the same drivetrain combination. The Cherokee Night Eagle is based on upon the mid-range Longitude Plus model, however, and features leather upholstery, heated front seats, an 8.4-inch touchscreen navigation system, Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity and ninespeaker audio system with subwoofer. On the outside there’s satin grey elements on the Jeep badge mounted on the front grille, gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass and black gloss roof bars, as well as the Night Eagle model badging. Available in a choice of four colours - black, white, silver and grey - the Cherokee Night Eagle can be ordered at Jeep dealers now.
