  • Own a works racer.

Aprilia’s RSV4 ismore than a little special. The growlingV4 has lleled drive, it steers with instantaneous accuracy no other canmatch, and there’s a genuine sense of the exotic. This is ue toApriliaUKonlybringing in the swanky RF version, or 2016 gets revisions to its ?hlins shock and a multimedia - this connects toyour phone and lets you tweak the ics corner-by-corner, access fathoms of data, and even see readouts. Truly befuddling. icated track riders and racers will be more excited by the (Factory Works). There are several versions. First is the day bike with specific electronics and maps. Then there’s a e in Superstock race spec; a Superbike with tuned motor, ancy electronics and special dash; and the W-SBK which is a replica of their World Superbike, built to your budget. At EICMA was this look-what-we-can-do R-FW Misano (left), with 230bhp, one-off swingarm and a giddying array of widgets. Aprilia say up to 80,000 euros (?56,160). • V7 II.

Moto Guzzi launched the new generation of the V7 at EICMA 2015, called V7 II, six years after the re-launch of the iconic motorcycle. Although a classic in its visual appeal, the V7 II is a modern motorcycle loaded with modern technologies. The bike is powered by Moto Guzzi’s new 744-cc air-cooled engine that puts out 48 PS at 6,200 RPM and 60 Nm of maximum torque at a rather low 2,800 RPM. Transmission is via a new six-speed gearbox as opposed to the previous V7’s five-speed unit. The clutch, too, has been improved with better linkages and modifications to the lever and cable in order to achieve a softer action and an even release. The bike should be headed to India soon and, once launched here, should make for an interesting choice in that segment.
  • G 310 R.

The much-talked-about collaboration between BMW Motorrad and our very own TVS Motors has resulted in this: the BMW G 310 R. Although there was no mention of TVS at the BMW Motorrad stall at EICMA, this is the bike that will lead the Indo-German onslaught in the suddenly burgeoning 300-cc segment. Styling of this brand-new naked motorcycle, BMW’s first sub-500-cc bike in recent years, is attractive but far from revolutionary. Ergonomics seem to be fairly relaxed but not as upright as a typical commuter. So far so conservative. What is truly revolutionary, however, is the engine placement - unlike all other manufacturers BMW have gone with a design that places the exhaust outlet facing backwards. Although the advantages of this move are unclear, it would aid ram air intake if there was one. Speaking of the engine, it’s an all-new 313-cc water-cooled single-cylinder with four valves and DOHC. Peak power is rated at 34 PS, which is available at 9,500 revs, while max torque of 28 Nm comes in at 7,500 RPM. Can’t wait to ride it!
