Maybach

Maybach

Maybach brand appeared in 1921 when engineer Wilhelm Maybach had designed his first car of W-3 model. This model was equipped with 6-cylinder 5.7 l engine and it became the first German car with brakes on all wheels. Next model was equipped with 7.0 l engine. It allowed acceleration up to 121 km/h. In 1929 Maybach had designed V12 engine of 6.9 l capacity and in 1930 Zeppelin DS-8 model was announced. This model had V12 8.0 l engine (200 hp). In following history more cheap models were presented and in 1941 Maybach cars production was terminated.

In 1961 Daimler Benz company has bought rights on Maybach. In the end of 90-ies it decided to restore forgotten brand. In 1997 Mercedes-Benz has shown Maybach concept-car. Main ideas of it were embodied in serial models of 2002.

Modern Maybach is available in two versions - standard Maybach 57 of 5.72 m length and elongated Maybach 62 of 6.16 m length. Models are fitted with V 12 engine with a boost (550 hp); the engine itself is designated as Type 12 as on prewar Maybach models. For chassis the latest developments of Mercedes -Benz were used which have been applied only in luxury cars.

Standard model of Maybach has all necessary equipment. Options list includes only two positions: fridge in the back of saloon and sunroof. At order of these options there is no need in extra payments. Car body may be painted in two colors and this service is also included in the price.
